Using VSCO with Leica M 240
« on: November 04, 2013, 02:38:24 am »

Hello everyone. I recently got my Leica M 240 and loving it. I tend to use VSCO film presets a lot and wanted to get a little technical guidance about the presets being applied to M 240 files.

VSCO does not currently support the 240, and as a result they have suggested using the Standard renditions until they release an update. However, I'm curious what the downside would be to applying the Leica presets? For those familiar with VSCO presets, they have folders for different camera brands, ie Sony, Canon, Leica, etc. But what exactly is going on when a preset is applied? In other words, how can the batch of Leica presets apply to an M9, X2 and the Leica S? The same question would apply to the other brands.
When applying a Sony preset to an RX1 file, for example, is something different occurring than if it was an RX100 file...even though the exact same preset was selected?

Hopefully the forum can shed some light on the topic.

Thanks a ton all!
