I'm just not sure which bunch is the Democrats and which is the Republicans. Clearly it's the Independent off alone at the right.

The parable of the mote and the beam comes to mind... however, I'll let that go, just.

Currently reading Rebecca West's wonderful account of the Balkans in the 1930's, "Black Lamb, Grey Falcon", a book that's typeset (not to mention written) to perfection (first edition at least), I note that it's set with single spaces before semi-colons. I feel a responsibility to notify participants on this forum.

But that (line break after each sentence) is exactly what I do! At least with the mark-up system latex that I use for my publications in professional (mathematical) journals. The typesetting software then takes care of imposing the visual layout according to professional typographic rules. Including smaller (roughly half em) spaces after commas, slightly longer spaces after periods.
