Brilliant shot…  This image would be very nice without the spectacular sky. I like the Maiden's Tower and the faraway background.

Excellent job!

Thanks for the comment, francois. Do you think this image is perhaps a tad too wide? Would a tighter shot of the tower with the mosques in the background be a better choice?

I like it as it is but a tighter crop would emphasize the mosques. In that case, the Maiden's Tower might be too central, though. Tough choice but you already have an outstanding photo!

This would be the 'narrow shot', I suppose. I'm glad I went with the original image. Any thoughts on this one?

The 'narrow shot" is too cramped. However, it has something that the OP does not, but need to have (I think): details in the building.

Now you crippled it.
The first rocks but not this one, because you left out the water in front of the island.

Chris, here's a different exposure with the sea in the foreground, and Slobodan, there's more detail in the tower.

I like #1 a lot, I wouldn't crop too much because the subject is the sky.

Much better.
You might want to combine the sky colors from the old version with the new version of the building to get the best from both.

Very lovely image. Version 2 would be great if it had more water in the f/g. I say put the sky from V2 to V3 and match the color temp.

Your first instinct was right. Too much detail or cropping is not what this needs, because you got it right the first time. Nice!
