28 inches is not enough.  The lids for loading the ink rise up more than the lid for loading the paper.  34" is very tight.  I can't measure precisely enough to tell.  I am guessing it is within an inch of fitting.

I took this pic just before my 8300 went off for scrap... :-(

Note how the stand feet stick out from front of the printer - hence removing it from the stand to get it through the doorway

You also save a bit of width by lifting the cover and the front of the platten

It went though the 29" doorway just fine (all our interior doors are on drop hinges so just lift off when open)

27-28" depth.  With the front cover flipped up as in the load position.  Also in the normal upright position.......... not on its side.

Could you please let me know the depth of the Canon ipf 8400 when the front cover is not flipped up?   I am trying to find the depth measurement of the printer unit without the stand.  The height measurement without the stand would also be much appreciated.  Thanks !

It goes from 27 to 28". Not much difference.
