Many thanks
« on: October 22, 2013, 12:13:42 pm »

I just would like to thank all those who answered my questions and helped me decide on which FF camera to get. I decided to go with the Nikon 800E camera and the following lenses: 14-24mm, 24-70mm and the 70-200mm and have purchased the body and 2 of the lenses. Now hoping to get out and use the equipment.

Have not been on the forums here in a while. Health and then many computer problems.

Thanks again.

Did the same with a D4 but found it too difficult a package for my uses, You did get phenomenal image equipment however!

Which two lenses do you have?  The 14-24 is perfect. Ditto the 70-200. No real substitutes unless you pull out a money canon. But in the 24-70, found I liked the 35 1.4/50 1.2 manual and the 85 1.4 much better. The 24-70 was not as useful or "good" as I had anticipated and MF every now and then rocks with the beautiful viewfinders of the high-end Nikons

For a walk around get-the-shot  lens the 24-120 f4 with VS is just as fast as the 24-70 (maybe faster), lighter, and has the extended range a 70mm often runs out of... but that's just me
