Alternate Hasselblad-V film back
« on: October 21, 2013, 01:17:18 pm »

Hi folks ,

I just wonder if there are any Hasselblad-V attachable film backs (6x6 or 6x4.5) out there, witch are usable with a Phase One adapter plate on a technical camera.
If not I had to modify one, any suggestions?

Thank you very much for your assistance
Kind regards
Pascal

Unlike other film backs for large format cameras or technical cameras there is no lever to move forward the film after every exposure.

So, no, there is no such thing.

The 6x6 back should fit the adapter.
Depending of the camera model, you should verify if you can remove the slider of the back. Otherwise you will have to remove the slider before fixing the camera back.

the other problem is the absence of the pin that unlocks the winder mechanism. Maybe the very old backs don't have this automatic "stop" between exposures.

You could certainly use one of the older backs that had the folding metal key instead of the folding plastic crank. You could advance the film with the key and either use the counter to select the next frame or open the rear tube to see the frame number printed on the backing paper. There are plenty of them around and very cheap to buy. Might need a new light trap where the slide fits, not expensive.
