Hi,
I am pretty sure you are aiming this at me, and you may be right. I had the 300/4 since film days but I bought the 400/4.5 in 2006, the 300/4 has seem little use since then. I looked at a lot of the 2005 images and I feel that my comments made some injustice to the 300/4, the images are better than what I did recall. It seems that the color fringing I complained about was mostly on overexposed images. At that time I did not understand that the issue I have seen was axial chroma, although I was familiar with the issue in theory.
I still feel that I am less happy with the 300/4, but the case is much weaker than I thought.
Best regards
Erik
