The old elevator
« on: October 15, 2013, 03:17:46 pm »

Hello everybody !

After being offline for a longer time I thought I'd say "Hello" again with this image of an Hamburg icon:
The image shows a part of the elevator construction for cars and people which leads down to the old tunnel below the river Elbe.

Cheers
~Chris

Like the tones falling into shadow at the left side.

Thanks for the appreciation.
Feels good.

I made a large print (24") and am quite happy with it.
The loaned IQ260 along with the Rm3D was definitely worth the tryout.
And printing again after the break is food for the soul.

Cheers

Honestly - you'd be shocked about how much of that "seeing" was postprocessing and something I only saw inside myself when I took the shot.
E.G. the shadow transition on the left side of the image is a gradient added in post as well as some others.
Basically its the image I saw when I was there, but it wasn't really there until I postprocessed the file.
This makes me happy, since nobody complained the imaged looked overcooked or something, so its all good I believe.

Definitely not overcooked. Imo well processed, particularly the light areas. An image that keeps you looking at it for more than a few seconds and that makes it a fine image.  :)
