Suggestions for mid to late April photography destination and/or workshop

Any suggestions for a 1-2 week photography trip in mid to late April?

I live in California but can go as far north as Alaska, as far south as Costa Rica or as Far East as Colorado/Wyoming. I have been to Yosemite many times so I might want to see some place new.

I love all kinds of nature photography but I just got a 500mm and have been on a wildlife/birds kick lately. I'm open to workshops too.

Why limit yourself to the Americas?

I would suggest Iceland if you have not been there previously.
