Exhibition Fibre Alternatives
« on: October 06, 2013, 10:26:19 pm »

I've mostly printed with mat paper, usually Cold Press Natural (I also use Epson Premium Lustre for the typical 'photographic' paper) but now exploring some of the more glossy (that use PK ink) papers available.

I'm looking on the Hahnemuhle site at their "Glossy Fine Art" papers, specifically at the Baryta papers.  There's Photo Rag Baryta, FineArt Baryta and Baryta FB.  Other than a small gsm difference, the descriptions don't really distinguish one from the other. Is there a better description anywhere comparing these papers?

I don't mind the EEF, but the roll paper is so curly.  Are they all like that?  I'm also looking for something with a more natural white and the Photo Rag Baryta has no OBA's so assuming this is more natural than the other two.

I use and like EEF but I use these papers more:
Innova IFA-45 FibaPrint Warm Cotton Gloss 335gsm (similar to Silver Rag)
Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin 310gsm (an atypical paper)
Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta 325gsm
Canson Infinity Rag Photographique 310gsm
Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper 310gsm
LexJet Sunset Fibre Rag 335g (similar to Silver Rag)
LexJet Sunset Fibre Gloss Natural 300g

Get a small size sampler pack from different mgfs.

Descriptions aren’t going to help, you need samples. Buy sample packs.
