Airline restrictions on lithium batteries?
« on: September 25, 2013, 04:46:07 pm »

I am going to travel with 2 cameras with lithium batteries and 4 extra lithium batteries. Are the 6 lithium batteries going to a problem with airline restrictions?  I had heard they are careful about lithium batteries.

Thanks

I just returned to the US from Europe with two cameras, 2 batteries for 1, 4 for the other, plus a laptop and and 7" tablet, plus a 10,000mah Anker external battery and had no one question any other batteries on the for four flights involved.

I believe that you must carry-on these batteries, that they may not be in the checked luggage.

I flew Air Canada from Vancouver to Toronto with 4 batteries in my carry-on and no problems. It might be an air lines issue rather than a more general restriction.

Since the restriction went into effect, I've saved the little caps that the batteries ship with and used those along with putting each in an individual ziplock bag and carry them in my carry-on.  I've also traveled with the big Anton Bauer Lithium bricks and never had a problem.
