(Mods - I tried a search and couldn't find a related thread - though I know there must be one...)

I have read Michaels latest on CC and respect his decision but for me , a single user amateur who noneteless have spent the same money as the pros over the years upgrading Photoshop - I feel that in relation to the latest update that when making updates within the reasonable expected life cycle of a product version , to deliberaltely omit features and giving them instead to a different purchase-version of what is essentially the same product version is actually a very carefully aimed slap in the face - which endears me to Adobe not one whit

---------------------

'3 - A Smoothness adjustment slider has been added to the Detail Panel under Color Noise Reduction*
4 - Refinements to the Spot Healing Tool*
5 - Smart Preview size has been updated to 2560 pixels on the long edge*
6 - Refinements to the Local Adjustment Brush*

*Photoshop CC only'

Actually Adobe have given more than usual as normally you don't get any access to the ACR version that comes with say CS6 if you are still on CS5.
This is giving some compatibility, but not access to the new features that are not present in the older version of PS.
However given that the update is well short of the old update cycle I can see why you feel aggrieved, but you normally don't get new features added in that time and those are tweaks to new features.

There are at least 8 other threads on CC in the Digital Image Processing section alone.

I keep meaning to ask this but kept forgetting...

In the article on "Why going to the cloud", the mention of "continued updates" was raised.

Which to me prompts this question(s) about updates.

Do the regular and automated updates from Adobe using its update downloader not satisfy?
Or will that be phased out over time to favour getting updates from the CC?
Or will the updates released from the CC be different to the "patch updates" for Ps/Lr products?

I suppose I'm curious about why this was called out for mention when it should be something that already happens?

Or is it a reference to what will eventually be "upgrades", not just "patches" or "updates", when (for example) Lr goes from 5.x to 6.x and CC folks will just "get it" as part of their regular update?
