p65+ and view camera / tech camera
« on: September 17, 2013, 04:14:21 pm »

Hello gentlemen

Last week I obtained a p65+ & am blown away by the results with my rz67 setup.

I am looking to add a view camera / tech camera and I was recommended a sinar X & cambo RS.

In selecting the lenses first and the bodies second:
Am I able to mount the same lenses on both of these systems?
Will my p65+ will out-resolve many lenses?

I liked the schneider 35XL but it is not recommended for sensors larger than 37x49mm.......

I'm looking for a wide angle lens (24mm equivalent) and a macro lens (100mm equivalent)

Many thanks in advance and apologies for my naiveté
All the best

Are you looking for a tech camera(like a Cambo RS, Alpa, etc.) AS WELL as a view camera, like the Sinar X/P2? So both?
Only asking because lenses aren't hot-swappable amongst different manufacturers, unless you go with the Arca Swiss for both. They make an adapter so you can use your R-mount lenses on a view camera(like the M-line 2).

Then you have the Linhof Techno, which takes industry "standard" technika boards. Those lenses can be mounted(via a lensboard adapter) to any other view camera your heart desires. Sinar's are a very common, easy to source, and relatively inexpensive option. Many believe them to not be up to "digital standards". Seem to work very well for quite a few studios I know of that still employ them in their daily routine.
