Been there.  Had a newspaper use an image of mine and when I contacted them they said 'oh, we'll just take it down' which they did.  In the meantime, I had written the columnist and he admitted to using it so I sent the publisher an invoice.  A few days later I had my cheque.  Good on him for not letting it go.
