Midnight in Skagafjörður

Scenes from a summers' midnight sun in Skagafjörður in north Iceland.  More images here.  (The red of the truck cannot be accommodated within the sRGB gamut.)

Love these minimalist compositions!  A fresh approach that is not often taken in regards to Iceland's landscapes.

Paulo, Bullfrog, Matt - thank you for your comments.

Paulo - the 'red' is first killed when the image is converted from ProPhoto space to sRGB, and then again by the gamut-limited monitors.  I see that on the iPad it is rendered orange-y, and it is not much better on the MacBook Air screen either.  I haven't yet checked the Retina MacBook Pro.

Matt - it took me several years to see Iceland in a different light (pardon the pun).  Confronted with those wild landscapes, the temptation to molest the contrast and saturation sliders is high.
