Cutting Rolls of Paper

I use roll paper, and occassionally sheets with my Z3200. I would like to know if anyone sells custom cut rolls different papers. I am looking for 11" and 13" rolls of different canson papers.

Hello felix5616, I think you will need to get say get a 17" roll and cut it yourself, I myself get wider rolls and cut them to the size I with a 14'' chop saw, with a new blade I get very good cuts. You also may be able get it cut locally for like $10 or so. I think some Fast Signs or print shops may have a roll cutter.

As Chris states the chop saw works nicely.
I wrap masking tape tightly around the roll, mark my cut spot and hold firmly against the fence and proceed with a slow steady cut.
A 24" roll will give you your 11" and 13" roll less the blade width.
If you do not have the proper tools or are not comfortable with the process take it to someone that is.
A sign shop roll slitter would always be my #1 choice if you can find someone that has one.

Does a chop saw produce an edge nice enough not to be trimmed?  Like if you trim a 11" roll, could you use it for 11x14 prints with some whitespace in the middle?  Or is the edge burnt/not straight/etc?

I bought a horizontal bandsaw a while ago for doing this... Still needs some work for it to run though.

The edge should be perfect if you use the proper equipment.
An off the shelf chop saw with the factory blade is not the proper equipment.
100 tooth or 80 tooth as the minimum. These blades are $100 + so if you do not have one you might want to find someone else to do this for you.
Tightly wound tape almost eliminates any tear out and the cut will be perfectly square.
Not trying to talk you in to anything. As stated above if you can find a sign shop with a slitter that should be your preferred route.

Not on the paper surface (providing the paper is wound tightly enough). You do need to drop a rag or feather duster through the core and vacuum the ends of the roll.
