HELP! I'm so stuck on this clogged nozzle
« on: September 03, 2013, 12:32:16 am »

Hello Everyone this is my 1st question... I've been googling how to fix my printer problems and wouldn't you know it. Some one else had the SAME EXACT problem. But I can't figured out what the answer to his problems were. I've got two art shows, and two artist that are depending on me and this happens NOW!

I've been printing with my Epson 9900 for 3 years. It's been great. Any "usual" problems I've figured out. But I'm panicking. I can't figure this one out.
One day me printer just wants to clean all the time, and It makes sense b/c I can see faint banding, even though the nozzle checks look great. I clean, and think "Oh Epson how you love to drink expensive ink" little did I know the nozzle checks had this faint little imperfection in the LLK and LM. (it's as thin as spiders web)
Well long story short:
"Cleaning Error - Automatic Head cleaning failed retry" - I did the recommended maintenance from the manual - no good
I've done the windex paper towel trick (Many times)
I've done head alignment uni-and bi-directional ( I can see the clog in the print out)

I've got through one maintenance tank in two days. I'm getting stuck can someone please tell me what's going on. I'm literally having the same problem as this http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?topic=70144.0
Even the faint blurring in the start of the print.

Till I can figure out the answer I'm going to print at 2880, and have extra paper fed before the ink lays down. but it doesn't solve anything- this is just a band aid for deadlines.

Thank you in advance. I've been reading threads... this might be my new favorite nerdy printing thing to do =)

I have no Idea what the side bar deflections are but you have some clogged /deflected nozzles in middle of the LK. I had something similar recently that was on nozzle check going back 3 months that I did not notice because they were so faint.
If you haven't already ruined your head by too many cleanings (or power cleanings) in succession, you have nothing more to loose at this point...
Check  and Clean your wiper if you have not already done so!!!!  link to Erics instructions...

Then try another clean cycle or two
also turn off high speed printing to help eliminate banding
good luck,

If the testprint does not show clogging, and the banding you mention are faint stripes in line with the printheadmovement, it could also be that the paper feed is too strong. This can easily be corrected in the Epson driver interface. Stripes form clogs are usually sharp thin stripes, paper feed stripes are quite soft or faint.
