RRS 24L big enough for Pentax 645D ?
« on: September 01, 2013, 03:48:19 pm »

I want to purchase a travel size tripod to use with my 645D and the one that makes most sense to me weight/height wise is the RRS 24L with a BH-55 LR head. The biggest worry is if the tripod is not to small for a camera such as the 645D. I would also use it with a D800e. Does anyone here use this tripod/head combo with a bigger camera ?

I think you'll be fine.

I use a RRS TVC24 usually with the Cube.  I originally purchased the TVC 24 as my lighter travel platform but find myself using these legs the most often now.  No problems with the Phase DF or Cambo WRS.

The weight won't be an issue. It really depends on what you are trying to do. Call them and discuss it. They seem to give me straight answers when i ask.

24L will be fine, unless you are in some big winds.  I have the 24L and 34L, and the 24L is just sweet when it comes to size.
