Constitutional Light

Hey folks!
Here's a simple scene from Mount Constitution, on Orcas Island, Washington. I didn't have much time to explore this little glen, but the lighting was really nice, and I managed to snag a keeper (or what I feel is one, at least) in the few minutes I had. I think it's the simplicity of this scene that appeals to me, and oddly that might have been helped by my hurried mindset. Hope you like it!

I think the strongest part of this shot is the curvy shadows near the bottom of the frame, especially the one from the tree on the left.
If it were me, I would crop just above your name, crop out the tree on the left and off the top where the dead branches are hanging down.
Maybe darken the foreground a bit. That would be a much stronger image in my mind.

Thanks for the comments! Walt, I really like your crop, but as a whole new image, not a replacement. It really turns the sapling into the subject, whereas my thought was to make the forest/glen as a whole the subject.

Yes I do.
I sometimes find these types of shots a little static, wishing for a deer or some other animal to be grazing in the scene, but totally realise that is my limitation, not a limitation of the photograph.
With this one though, I don't have that impression. It's good the way it is.
