Looking for: good dock lake shot in California/Oregon
« on: August 22, 2013, 02:32:58 pm »

Maybe you guys can help me with this.  I've been using google earth to try to find something, and it's just not working.  I'm looking for a location for a specific shot involving a dock and a lake, anywhere in CA or OR.  This is for a request from a friend, and it needs to be a fine art shot.  Requirements are:  plain looking dock, no pillars, no rails, no offshoots, it must go straight out.  There can't be anything on it or around it.  There can't be any sign of human encroachment in the shot, which takes Tahoe out of the running.  Obviously there are a *lot* of lakes in just those two states, and it would probably take a couple years to go visit all of them.  I'm hoping you guys can narrow it down for me.

I'm planning to shoot color and b&w on a lens slightly wider than normal, probably in the 35-50 range.  I'd like to keep photoshop out of it if possible, but I'm willing to use it to get rid of small problems.

Here are some similar pictures to what I'm envisioning:
