DXO 8

I have been using DXO only for my RX100/Nikon V2 files, but have also started to use it as my main converter for D800 files shot at higher ISOs. I am very happy about the results I am getting! C1 Pro remains my converter of choice for lower ISO images.









All shot with a 300mm f2.8 VR. Still amazed by the AF of the D800!

Superb images, really. Initially, I thought that the white balance was on the green side… but I measured some patches and that must be my eyes. Time to visit the doctor…

Which seems to suggest, at higher ISOs, you prefer the results you're seeing with DXO over what you see with C1 Pro? What in particular do you prefer?

More accurately, I find the automatic adjustment of noise reduction settings as a function of ISO superior when dealing with a set of images shot using auto ISO.

The noise reduction built-in DXO is also IMHO one of the best compromises available today.

I would need a huge amount of time to find the optimal noise reduction settings in C1 Pro to get close but I don't think I would reach the same quality anyway.

if you have some spare time, could you post 100% crops of two tack sharp D800 files, one with low ISO and the other with high ISO, both developed in CO7 and DXO 8, base settings? I would greatly appreciate that.
