FS RARE MacroNIKKOR 19mm 1:2.8 and MacroNIKKOR 35mm 1:4.5
« on: August 18, 2013, 04:10:22 pm »

While conducting a back-logged inventory on our lab I found these two (what I thought were standard) objective lens.  Since we no longer have a histology section the two items were labeled for disposal and thus free game.  Closer inspection revealed that they have aperture settings unlike a standard microscope objectives.  Little digging revealed them to be two of the relatively rare and relatively obscure true macro lens produced by Nikon for the Multiphot microscopy system.

There are two currently on EBay in much poorer condition.

So much to the case that I might conclude (considering there are no scratches of any kind anywhere on the two lenses) that my lab in the past almost never used the multphot system with these lenses.

One was sold on this forum in the past for $1525

I'm thinking $1400 for each or reasonable offers.  Contact me for more photos or questions.

Well...the lens that was sold was a different focal length (120mm) - and I was fortunate enough that someone had been looking for that lens for quite a while.

Meanwhile, you should post an advert for your two lenses over at NikonGear.com - there are a number of macro enthusiasts over there that might be interested. However, someone else has been advertising a 35mm Nikon Macro for several months (at a lower price) - and has had no luck with selling it:

good luck! sometimes these lenses sell quickly but these days not so...there is also a macro enthusiasts group - they would be interested in your lenses too...

Of the four true (1:1 and greater) macro lenses Nikon manufactured, the 65mm f4.5 is the most in demand. The RMS 35mm and 19mm less so - but good luck! One never knows until casting a line into the sea.

Thanks for the tips, Robert.  I'll look into selling at Nikon Gear but in all honesty if they don't sell I don't really mind.  I've had these lil' guys for a year now and I've gotten used to them sitting in my bookcase next to my father's old glass: just another piece of scientific/photographic history.
