What do you do about this? Should I send it to Nikon? Anyone experience backfocusing with this lens?

If you can't compensate for the backfocus in-camera, by all means send it to Nikon and have them correct the problem. If it's a new lens, though, you oughta be able to exchange it for a (hopefully) properly-calibrated sample.
