OK, I'm printing for a client (new to me). He brought his images as tiffs, we've soft-proofed and printed to his approval. I'd like to send home with him a copy of the soft-proofed file. If I export the soft-proofed virtual copy with its tweaks as a 16bitt tiff from Lightroom, and append the file name to indicate what it was soft proofed "to profile wise" - will that work? Could I just reload that file at some point in the future and make prints straight from the file "already soft-proofed?" That way, he retains control of his files and they do not reside in my catalog except for when I'm actually working making prints for him.
It seems logical... but things have seemed logical to me before and I was wrong!
What say the experts?
