Considering i1 Profiler with i1pro2 spec - some questions
« on: July 31, 2013, 06:40:16 am »

I'm considering investing in an i1 Photo Pro setup. Even though it would be a business expense it is a very large outlay for me. So I have some questions and I'm hoping for some shared experiences.

Is the scanner profiling in i1Profiler better than PM5? I'd be using my HCT reflective and a CCSG as targets. I mostly scan watercolour paintings, but also some photographic originals.

What sort of patch count is ideal for profiling a 9900? or rather: after what patch count does the gain in quality stop being noticeable? My priority is dead-accurate colour (or as close as I can get) as most of my printing is art reproduction and don't want to fight against a profile that has colour shifts.

I use a Dell 2410 currently calibrated with a Spyder3 and DisplaycalGUI. Will i1 Profiler + the spec offer an improvement?
