but the godamn barn is full of dry grass,
FULL
the neighbors are gonna go down, also,
because this is an unincorporated farm community, that has many pig, chicken, goat, horse etc runs right next to the buildings.
If they gonna fight this one,
I'm gonna call out everyone,
ON EVERYTHING
from red legged frogs to illegal in law units,
fire hazard,
I'll show em mad rednecks instead,
my neighbors will be pissed to find the fire inspectors at their doors, as this is public info,
and I know all of them, and not one of em is likely to cut their pasturage to suit some mouthy fire marshal,
I know who loses here,
but I ain't going alone...

Just cut a strip of grass adjacent to the building. You don't have to cut the whole pasturage.

hey yeah,
I'm too emotional about this,  it is a direct onslaught against everything important to me,
freedom, life, happy livestock, viable populations of many varieties of INDICATOR SPECIES,
meaning many of the creatures here are endangered or threatened.
I keep my place funky,
and like it this way,
many bushes trees etc, NATIVE PLANTS HARBORING NATIVE ANIMALS
also, good pasture for the goats, and the chickens keep the farmyard free of ticks etc.
I don't cut, except when it gets dried out,
and then up against the house to about ten feet on two sides and in the yard between the barn and my window looking out, so altogether there are bushes (not dried) against the front, and various other crap until it's dried up about ten feet out,
but the goats use it throughout the year and I'm only willing to cut more if they make me.
I mean with a piece of paper signed by someone like a judge telling me I even have to let them on the homeplace ever again,
I called the station and spoke with the Capt.
Told him never to come wandering around here again w/o an appt.
And I'd get back to him within a few weeks regarding said appt.
So,
by then,
they'll have either gotten the message loud and clear,
or I'm gonna start talking my head off.

Just do what you're told. The government knows best.

1) Pass lots of laws, always motivated by 'what's best for everyone/the children/the environment/your safety/your own good, etc.'.
2) Eventually, there will be enough laws and rules that nearly everyone will be breaking one or more of them at some point.
3) Then, the government is ready to selectively enforce laws against anyone it wants to.

I am all for this, I find it ridiculous when everything is turned into manicured grass and I know uncut fields do indeed support endangered insect populations. But here the solution is so easy you would be a fool not to try it: just cut a strip of grass adjacent to the building. If the man never comes back, you will have done what he asked with very little effort and trouble. If he comes back, ask him to define the distance more precisely.

Need more information from OP. Here in Cal we have mandatory brush clearing near structures in the country, a very good idea because it significantly reduces fire risk to structures if a fire comes through.

Rob, we wish you were here for tonight's howl,
we're having a special presentation by a local poet, a small band, ukelele playing in the cafe
maybe the good bad and ugly on the movie screen,
anyway the place has become too much like a ghost town,
ever get hit hard enough to taste it?
LEO wants to come on the home place and start shooting dogs or something-
I'm telling you guys,
I'll blab and blab if they come back,
everyone is going down if I'm going down
and jerome,
I'll do it cause you sound reasoned in your approach,
you're right it is a small thing to see if it will work,
Thank you all,
here comes the city,
they'll have to take me kicking and biting
