The thumbnail looks like not much, but enlarged: Wow! Very elegant!

The subtle gradations in tone make the image.
Well done!

Mark,

An excellent image. From the EXIF data, I see that the image was created on 7/13/2013 possibly near your hometown, Rehweiler, Germany (49 50 54 N, 7 26 29 E) with a 35 mm equivalent focal length of 400 mm. Entering these data into Skymap Pro I get the folowing scene. I would think the celestial body is the sun--it is much too large to be a planet. In the USA morning star usually refers to Venus. Maybe, I'm a bit dense, but the image initially caused some confusion to me.

I looked at your website and saw some outstanding work and would recommend it to others.

Regards,

Bill

Yes, exactly. The large image reveals details that transform this image from "just a red sun" into a nice contemporary landscape shot.

Thanks everyone! The last few days here in Germany the sun has been off the chain! My students really enjoyed the view that morning. Almost missed it as we were tucked behind a corn field that cut the view in half.
