EpsonExhibition Canvas Matte with 3800
« on: July 05, 2013, 03:33:38 pm »

We solved the paper feed problem by taping the canvas to a sheet of 17x22 paper. We are using the sheet feeder, since we couldn't get the rear feeder to work. However, our biggest consistent problem is trying to print a 12"x37" photo on a piece of the canvas that is 40" long.

The printer prints a portion of the image about 9"x9" and then ejects it. I have created a custom paper size in both CS5 and LR4 and continue to have this problem. We turned the printers "Paper Size check" to off.

Can't figure out where we are going wrong with the printing setup.

Using MacPro, OS 10.7.5.

Any help out there?

I remember having the problem, and solving it, but my memory is foggy.
I think that I had to reduce the print length a bit, to maybe 36".

Where does it start the print?  Right on the 3mm margin?  If so, you might want to try PrintFab (or another RIP) and specify the paper is 40".  Then you can center it.

I have Inkpress 17x22 gloss canvas.  I presume you use doublebacked tape for taping the canvas to the paper?  Did you change the platen settings?

I have fought the good fight with the rear feed and no joy.

thanks

Ok, got a nice print via the regular sheet feeder and taping to a thin sheet of 17x22 paper.
My printer did like it and went thru some gyrations after I removed the print.  Much Ka chang and whirring and such.

I probably need to adjust the platen gap or some such?

by the way  MANY THANKS for the tip about taping to a regular sheet.
