I am new to this forum and would like to ask opinions. I owned an EOS 630 but got busy with other things [working on ways to earn a living and life I guess]. I did not like the expense of processing film to learn from my mistakes. So I decided to wait until I could learn this thing digitally. So, it has been about 10-14 yrs or so, I am making some time to have some fun and have been reading about the 10D.
I own an old 24-70 f4 and a 70-210 f4 and wanted to know whether these would yield sharp photographs or whether I should just buy some new "glass" as they put it? When I say old, I mean, these lenses are probably a decade old.
As a rule, I love having the best equipment to learn on and play with so that I can rest assured that if something is not working that the problem is me and not the deficient equipment. At the same time, I am not a fan of useless spending. If the lenses are good enough to produce sharp pictures but are just slow, then please tell me. If on the other hand, lense technology has just advanced to such as degree that it is stupid to even think about playing with these, then please tell me that as well.
I have thought about looking third party lenses but again was afraid of ending up with less than sharp photos and still not being sure if it is the lens or ME.
I have my eyes on the 16-35 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8 and 100-400 f4 IS.
