Very atmospheric, Chuck. I would be tempted to lighten up the bottom part just a tad, and darken the upper part equally so.

You guys are right.  The foreground really closes up when the image is reduced to 800 pix.

Here is another interpretation that I already had done that is along the lines suggested.

Wow, fabulous revision.
Slobodan was correct - opening up the foreground a bit has made a massive difference.
The original post was really good, the revision is a cracker!
