How do you plan to float down the Danube from Budapest to Amsterdam?

The Danube arises in Germany flowing in a general south-easterly direction, passing through Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade, before emptying in to the Black Sea in Romania. That's why it was a classical invasion route for the Ottoman Empire into central Europe and Austria, and vice-versa.

It passes nowhere near Amsterdam!

As I said on page one, reply #9:

"But the boat does! If I am not mistaken, that would be a Danube-Main-Rhine rivers cruise."

Just curious--was your cruise cancelled because of the flooding in central Europe?

So, the cruise was fantastic! Up the Danube to the Main then on to the Rhine and Amsterdam. Many, many shots, but very difficult to avoid "travel snapshots" and lots of castles, cathedrals, spires, etc. I tried and may post a few here. I am starting to post on my website in the "New" collection. Weather was hot (>30 degrees C most days). Nikon D7100 was a champ with the 28-300 zoom; 10-24 not useful really at all. Used the Nikon 1 v2 as well and was pretty pleased with a few captures, lightness, and ease of handling. Ended up not needing a tripod; just boosted the ISO and cleaned up pretty well in PP. Working through culling from 2700 images!
