utility/software to switch between monitor profiles on osx
« on: June 27, 2013, 03:13:30 pm »

What the title says - does anyone know of such a software? NEC spectraview had that nifty feature to create multiple profile and with on click to change between photogrpahy/ printing etc.
it seems i1 profiles/bassicolor does not provide this feature.

I don't but there's more to this than just switching profiles. The reason SpectraView is so useful and nifty is it updates the calibration in the panel and switches the profiles too.

Yes. until they updated the spectraview II to 5 which is basiccolor and ruined everything.
in any case, it doesn't work with i1 pro 2 and eizo CG monitors, which is the combination I need.

But it does work with ColorNavigator and Eizo CG.

In Basiccolor click on "advanced settings", next on "File"-Menu -> "choose profile" (or however it is named in the English version...). This will load the LUT and calibration data into the monitor and assigns the respective monitor profile in the OS.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but can't you use the built-in Displays preferences panel in OS X?  "➞System Preferences➞Displays➞Color" and pick from list.  Works on dual monitor set-ups.  LaunchBar or other similar utilities can be easily programmed to bring up this preferences dialog with a short-cut key-chord.

The Menu Bar icon for displays was removed in Mountain Lion.  You can replace it:

Thank you all, indeed basiccolor menu works. Also the system colormenu - for some reason it didn't work for me on another computer. it works now.
