Awesome image! I'm jealous. I was at White Mountain in the Eastern Sierra over the weekend for high elevation training for my Mount Whitney trip next weekend. I attempted to photograph the moonrise, but it was already too dark by the time the moon was visible at 11,000+ feet. Even the super moon couldn't illuminate any interesting foreground in the area. Oh well... I will just enjoy your photography with envy! :)

Thanks all, for the kind comments.

I was assisted by the Photographer's Ephemeris app on my iPhone when I did my early afternoon "pre scout" of the location.
Until about 6:30 p.m. I thought I'd be out of luck due to the clouds on the horizon... and then they turned into something incredible.
A lesson in patience . . .

Doing homework/scouting before going out can be rewarding and your fantastic image proves it!
