The light is really nice as is the tree. But the rather ugly brush in the foreground ruins the shot for me.

Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder I guess. The weeds with cobwebs on are so evocative to me.

A very pleasing image - timeless and almost placeless too, at least in temperate places.

Very nice!

I do wish you'd stood a bit more to your left, and turned the camera more to your right.

The right side of the frame is very strong, a lovely bright light against equally lovely darkness. There's good subject matter over there as well. The left side of the frame rather peters out to, well, not blandness, but it looks weak when stacked up next to the right.

The color is simply fantastic. Very painterly.

I'd agree the foreground plants look more cluttered at web size.

I'v got a similar print from a few days before with a foreground with plants either side so I went with a more central one with this shot. Upgraded to a D800 inbetween so only needed to use a 2 stop grad aswell rather than a 4 stop as on the shot below.

Better foreground, but the light isn't as wonderful as in the previous shot.

I agree with Doug, and I also agree with Lois. Here's another way to look at the first one.

Wow fantastic light.  I love the spider web in the foreground!
