After going through the initial test shots from this camera, I was tempted to make this meme, hope it's okay with the moderators (if not I'll glad take it out :))

And just we're on topic, here's a SOOC, just cropped.

Batman reminds me of the Old Man setting me straight when I was a young punk ;D

A few photos from a little street fair while visiting my sister in Western NY.

Here's some shots I took just off the cuff. Nothing creative, but the quality of the bokeh, the grain, the colors, the detail!!

It's so filmy!

Straight out of the camera (RAW > JPEG) without any tweaks (I think SPP applied highlight recovery to the first shot on its own). I didn't bother correcting the photos because I wanted to share the SOOC experience.

Please check the largest version by right clicking on the photo and selecting the size.

That quality is addictive, isnít it? I sent some RAW files and Tifs to several photographers, people in their later 60s who have earned their livelihood from photography - one uses the Phase One medium format cameras. Their reactions were expressions of astonishment. One of them (who uses the Phase one camera, stitching, and an Epson 9900 printer) has been experimenting with upscaling the files, and tried PhotoZoom Pro 5. He just wrote and said it is the most amazing thing for upscaling he has ever seen by a mile  (speaking about a 200% upscaled file). I know none of these guys would ever have looked at a boxy little Sigma point and shoot. I canít put it down!

Try this chap's site; he has jpg and raw available to download.

http://pond.org.uk/galleries/DP2M/

Click the thumbnail, and there should be a link to DL the raw.

BTW, I've used my Canon only once since I got the DP2M.  I get out the canned air, every now then, and blow off the dust ;)

I have a project where I've been photographing church frescoes.  The Canon with Photo Ninja seem to work well together.  I want to put the DP2M to work as well.
Here is a down-scaled file and 100% crop of what I'm getting right now.  Sorry for posting non-DP2M images :o

I can sent the RAW file to this one, if that will help. It is about 52MB I think.

A quick fun shot.

Untitled by power slave, on Flickr

Note that the 'YOYO' part isn't tack sharp because it was vibrating, but check out the rest of the frame! So much detail in every part.

Here's one more from today. Cropped to about 40-50%

Here's a few I took last evening. Something about the colors, gradations and resolution just works.

Don't worry about the composition in these, just enjoy the image quality.

Do check out the larger versions at flickr, it's so smooth yet detailed!

Here's a snapshot, nothing compositionally interesting, but the quality of the photo is just so delicious.

I was lucky to find a Hoya Zoom Close Up Lens in mint condition. Now I have the chance to have some macro shots with my Sigma Dp2m. The pictures posted here are just test files. Jpeg straight from the camera, no retouch at all, very compressed. Iīll be doing some Raw shots test during the weekend. Stay tunned!

Still learning how to use the Hoya Zoom Close Up lens for doing some macro shots with my Sigma DP2m. Those are 4 shots handheld, raw with little post processing in SPP. They look really clean and sharp at 100% crop.

What is it with this sensor and the sky
« Reply #55 on: August 30, 2013, 05:13:31 PM »

Most skies with this cam blow out easily. Also the colours look very strange to my eye as if there is a kind of vail in it. Also, many of the pics I see here look pixelated. And it is all in the skies with clouds. Once people shoot bw the sky joins the rest of the picture and things look spectacular again.

But my main question is just this: do any of you use a gradauted ND filter? And can some of you post shots of a sky which is half clouded and half not, may be cumulus clouds in it it or so?? Thanks!

If I ever get back to Spain I won't be forgetting my DP2M. Some fine shots here, and in your other posts - restrained and elegant - so that the IQ is just the cream on the cake.

out-of-camera jpeg, apart from resizing in paint, not touched...have a new computer, no lightroom installed yet.

admittedly poorly composed, just wanted to highlight dynamic range again.
