Crop out the buildings? Love the top pink and green, light and dark, smooth and rough.

I agree with Scott on the crop, the image looks great without the buildings.

Agree with both, but just remove the red one which may draw your attention  ;) ;)

I like the buildings as they really help give the image scale, maybe the red could go? As it does draw attention and is a bit too close to the bottom of the frame; maybe if the border color was darker, say a charcoal color it would work better. Also as to drawing undue attention, there is the area between the peaks on the left that is a bit bright and seems to draw too much attention, I can’t seem to tell what is going on in this area, it seems a bit out of place. Maybe on a large image it would seem more appropriate.

Still all in all a very good image, as is.

Thank you, all, for your critiques.

Larry, that little area was 'hot,' a snow-covered ridge reflecting light.

I'm siding with Larry, sort of in-between opinion (with or without the buildings).
The light is exceptional.

I would just crop the building close to the bottom edge.

I would just crop the building close to the bottom edge.
That's the only possible change that I would endorse. In general, buildings in Iceland feel like such an integral part of the landscape that I would not go out of my way to avoid including them (but I would, in most other parts of the world.)

Thank you, all. It was a quick "from the field" type of post. I need to revisit the image along with variations of the compositions I have taken.

Eric is right - the houses, churches, barns, farmhouses in Iceland in many instances blend harmoniously with the landscape and are an integral part of it.
