With apologies in advance to Jim Pascoe...

A glasses-mounted camera, connected to a pocket-sized computer, OCR software and a bone-conduction speaker.  Like Google Glass, but with purpose:

P.S. Can you imagine making art if you couldn't move?

What a fabulous concept!

I’ve worked with speech to text conversion recently with software by Dragon and that is sadly, still not ready for the masses. But in contrast, OCR technology has been doing great for some time. The combination of maturation and automation showed in the “OrCam” is brilliant.

This tool or a near term evolution of it will help a vast number of people. In addition, the name “OrCam” may become a colloquialism for people who have reading comprehension issues (as nearly everyone does from time to time).

I've been following the "brain painting" with great interest. "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly"  set me off in that direction initially. Thanks, as is always the case, for your excellent finds!
