Quick background PS CS 5, Mac 10.6.8 .... my prints are turning out to be darker than the proofed image. By mistake, I clicked OK to a Apple Epson driver update (Gutenprint) that removed the original Epson drivers. My prints were coming out dark. I corrected that by deinstalling the Apple update and reinstalling the Epson drivers after downloading from the Epson site. Now my prints are still printing darker; when I proofed before doing the Apple driver update and printed, I did not have this problem. I wanted to find where the Epson profiles for various papers are stored to see if the driver download included the official Epson printer paper profiles. Searched on the web and on LuLa for finding where the Epson ICC profiles are stored and I cannot find the ICC profiles for the standard 3880 paper combination i.e. Premium Photo Glossy , Luster etc. on my Mac. There are profiles I have loaded for Hahnemuhle Pearl etc. in the Colorsync folder. I can see them but no Epson profiles. I have included the two screen shots of the colorsync folder and the printer folder in the Library folder if that helps.
One suggestion from the web was to take the ICC profiles from Epson and put them in the Colorsync folder. I did this for the professional papers since I found them on the Epson website but I cannot find the ICC profiles for the non-"professional" papers like Premium photo glossy etc. However, there is a 23.8 Meg file called Pro3880.profiles which is a package in the ICC files folder - when I click on it, the OS asks me to choose an application to open this package. After looking at the screen shots can people get me going on the right path to make sure I have the right Epson profiles loaded? I can then eliminate the ICC profile issue as a source of the prints being darker.
Didn't want to post this on the Printers or Colo(u)r Management parts of the forum since I am a Newbie.
Thanks,
Praki
