JPEG imports issue
« on: June 02, 2013, 05:04:08 pm »

My default import profile is set to apply a medium contrast tone curve (together with a 2012 Process Version).

When I import a JPEG, the curve is applied, but the entry under Develop - Tone Curve panel shows "Linear". Is this a known bug ?

It's not a bug it's a feature!
Indeed, LR by default does nothing to rendered files (tiff, jpeg...) when importing.

Your default curve applies only to raw files, and only those of the camera you applied it to.

Yes, and by default LR will not apply any sharpening to a JPEG image.

JPEGs have limited capacity for adjustment - the adjustments made in camera cannot be undone.
