Stoney Indian Reserve, Alberta, Canada
« on: May 26, 2013, 07:32:49 am »

In George Barr's book "From camera to computer..." there are pictures of a stunning location (starting on p. 98) in Stoney Indian Reserve, Alberta, Canada: Bow River snaking through the landscape with the Rockies as  backdrop. According to the author it's located along Highway 1A and I have figured out that it should be somewhere near the city of Morley. Does anyone on here know how to get there? Last time I visited Canada we drove along that very highway but we did not see this place, so maybe it's located some distance from the road? It really looks lovely so it would be a shame to miss it if we drive this route again.

Hi Madeleine,
You saw it because you drove through it. You'll need to get off the main highway and travel the back roads.

Hi,

Yes, I suspected as much. Do you know where exactly to get off the main highway? I figured it's located west of Morley but maybe I'm totally wrong? I've been looking on Google maps but I'm struggling to find a place that matches the photograph.

What a great website, can't believe I haven't found that one! I'll certainly ask them about it.
Thank you!
