Nature image set #3
« on: May 25, 2013, 08:50:39 pm »

Here is some of the first images to come out of my new Nikon Coolpix P7700 this year.
I went with a change this year at least for now, gone is the Orton effect
opting for more detail in my work and less pp and more lower POV shots in my work using the great tilt lcd screen
the P7700 has.

Also a more jpeg engine approach to my work hence the Coolpix and just going with few tweaks in pp.
I find this important to me as it keeps my field skills sharp and gives the pixels a break from all
the heavy pp I have done. I also switch to Lightroom for the few tweaks that I do from Nikon Capture NX2 as LR is
much more stable on my computer system.

Take care,
Dwayne Oakes

I like all of these.
All very different images but each exhibits some thought and inventiveness (is that a word?) in the capture.
I am starting to see a pattern here with fairly subdued tones - is this your intrinsic style or does it reflect the time of year (not a lot of light)?

Great eye Tony ! All captured post winter dull overcast days. Sunny days a head for sure.

Thanks for giving us an explanation for your new approach. The key thing is that you have an excellent eye, with or without extensive post processing. These are all excellent.
