Took a road to Quartz Mountain in Oklahome recently. Lot of shooting opportunities. Few samples from trip:

Lake Altus is drying up, the water level is about 30ft below normal. You can see the normal water line on the horizon. Birds are white pelicans. Low water levels caused an algae bloom that has killed tons of fish. Easy pickings for the pelicans but there won't be anything here next year.

Old barn in Lone Wolf Oklahome looks like i had seen better days.

Door in Quitaque Texas, I like shooting doorss and wondering who all may have passed through them.

Few more shots from the trip out HERE.

Nice shot of Quartz Mtn. And Lone Wolf is always fun if you like old buildings.

Quartz Mountain is a favorite of Paul Caponigro (not John Paul but his father). I was in a workshop there once when Caponigro just happened to stop by. He had taught the workshop previously and enjoyed the area so he made it a point to stop whenever he was nearby.

Oklahoma has been in a rather extended drought which is now, thankfully, over. That lake will probably return to normal levels soon. OKC's lakes were very low but are now filled to capacity.

Thanks for posting.

I like the textures in #3. I wonder how the phot would have turned out, had you included a bit more of the tree on the left-hand side?
