Well, in the text they say that this project is one of the reasons why Google invested on Nik, so I will say yes, they are probably using Nik tech in the background...

Not sure how relevant that article is to this audience as it assumes the only 'camera' you own is your phone.

Aside from the camera issue, LuLa members surely use Nik software and privacy rights affect every photographer.
