Balancing light

Here is one more to complete this series. The first was soft light, the second was hard light, and this one is an attempt at more balanced light.



The sun was streaming down in a small clearing filled with blossoms, but I was able to keep to the theme of high contrast by avoiding the floor of the forest in the frame, and the dense trees in the distance kept the background dark.

 With an explosion in the foreground and the background, the white petals remind me a bit of fireworks.

Interesting result. I think some of the branches in the background interfere visually with the flowers/bloom in the foreground.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll work on those details.

I don't see a lot of high-contrast B&W nature photography on LuLa (admittedly, it is a bit old school), so I was uncertain what the response would be.

I like it very much. I agree with Paolo about the branches, though, particularly the bright one slap in the middle. I've tried to imagine it as the rising firework trail, but it's not happening

Is the image upside down? Or should it be? A rising main line might help.
