The sliding flex adapter allows for easy panorama stitching of 2-3 images.

I have two versions; one is larger ground glass version with markings for stitching, while the other is smaller and features an integrated screen which is brighter and good for eye or low magnification viewing.

There is a dial that lets you select where you want the sliding back to stop at.

Both adapters are in good working condition and all the features work as they should. I also have one with a broken dial for the bargain hunter.

The flex adapter's can be used with any digital back by means of various adapter plates. The adapter plate is attached to the back and then the plate and back can be easily removed to move from portrait to landscape shooting.

Asking $400 per adapter

A single Hasselblad V adapter plate is also available and can be included for an extra $125

Some more information on how the dots work:

If you look at the bottom right of the two good units you will see a dial. This dial can be set to Red, Green, or Blue. If you look above (to the right of in the photo) the ground glass you will see three Red dots and two Green and Blue ones. The sliding back will stop and lock at the color of dot that is selected in the dial.

When shooting just a single frame its best to use the middle red dot (which is the only one that lines up with the smaller screen unit).

When shooting a 3-frame stitched panorama. All you have to do is take a shot at each of the three red dots and combine in post.

2-Frame Panos can be shot with the green and blue dial settings.

Panos can be shot with the back in the portrait or landscape configuration. Changing the orientation is as simple as squeezing the blue back release button to remove the back (while the back is still connected to the adapter plate) then rotating the back 90 degrees and reinserting it into the flex adapter again by using the blue release.

There has been some interest in the damaged unit. Basically it is the same as the one with the larger ground glass except the dial is missing and it only stops in the middle red dot location. So instead of a stitching adapter it works as a basic sliding adapter. New sliding adapters are about $1000 I'm asking $250 for the bargain (semi-functional) flex adapter unit.

Actually the damaged unit has the smaller single shot portrait/landscape fresnel type screen rather than the larger multi-stitch ground glass. It stop's right in the middle where it needs to be for that screen. It really doesn't matter that it won't stop at the sides or other dots as it stops in the only place that works for that fresnel. I can't remember if phase used the beattie or maxwell screen for this unit.
