Stolen Hasselblad lens
« on: May 07, 2013, 02:30:24 am »

I was offered on Saturday a stolen Hasselblad lens (1.7 converter).

The serial number was erased and covered with paint. Nothing really extraordinary till now, except .....

..... that the seller was also including a WHITE box with all the accessories (leather pouch, leaflets, ..etc), except the guarantee papers obviously.

According to Hasselblad, this means the box was stolen between Japan (where the lens is manufactured and put in a white box) and Sweden (where the lens is put in the normal blue box).

Just for everyone to know. I am sure this lens will resurface at another internet site soon. :)

I informed Hasselblad Europe and gave them all the info. They are checking when and where it was stolen.

3 options :

in the factory in Japan
during transport from Japan to Sweden
in the Swedish factory

I hope they have a good tracking system. Once there is a serial number on, it cannot disappear without a trace. But is is very strange that it ends up 2000 miles further in another country.
