I can't comment on the problems you have with Avid except to say that the last version of Final Cut Pro 7 seems to recognise my HBR 25p files as 25p and all is sweet.

Yeah, Edius does also take this without problem.

Avid is not happy with the falacies of the last-minute dslrs engineering like this. It works, but with some trick that involves a roundtripping.

But in the end, I really prefer shooting in 23.976p at max bitrate and then bring the bin into a 25p project. It obliges to create 2 avid projects,
one srtictly for import and the other one, the 25p being the real one, but it works really well with bin import.
