It always ends in tears.

You enjoyed this guy earlier; here's another from him - Van Broussard.

If you read some Spanish and cast your mind to the other thread about books, words, meanings and what they may or may not be, look at this extract. There's no sunlight today.

thanks Rob,
I don't read but capiche

usta hang with my Daughter's folks in the belly of the beast
but the only espanol I recognize but sure and quick usually involves the words buey and weto sonavabish spanglish signs and whistles had me always running for cover
but old ladies would speak espanol and giggle, and the cholitas liked me cause I didn't cause trouble
funny old ladies
Italians really, but sud then centro american oh boy my girl,
some percent Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Texan, Peruvian, Swedish, Scottish, North German, and jewish, catholic, methodist, pagan, and finally and not really reaching,
animist.
She was fluent until 5th grade-decided the hard bit life of her cousins' wasn't appealing and never spoke spanish again.
I simply never did or tried.
la lengua de corazons  ,ya know?
as good a place as any to reminisce

yeah more sad songs,
I highly recommend some spaghetti westerns to go with that music.
This morning I sat through DEATH RIDES A HORSE with Lee Van Cleef again.
I think it's as good as it gets.
Ennio Morricone's score, not sure if the characters are to be taken at face value or as a deeper metaphorical representation of not just personalities but events and as you point out,
YOP!
Really that's all I want to say about such events and a hometown favorite at one of the small jazz venues here in the early 70's
He had a great and happy personality.
Never forgot where he came from.

Was looking at the Mark Seliger site recently... some great portraits in b/w.

strange occurrences for sure-
this morning's low tide brought me to the easy trail between ____ and her hunters outpost ____
The sun slinging backlight across a freshly washed and arranged beach, interplayed with shadows from the high cliffs strange beautiful fog descending-

the longbeaks were poking around, I flushed a heron by accident,
I brought home a very perfectly formed cockle shell, observed plenty of breakfast but came home and ate cereal.
Tomorrow I may bring my camera.

hahah
so before I go and start telling secrets I have no idea about,
the background is a long flat stretch of harder sand, below average mean tide, with many small inlets , 1 small lone rock outcropping in a desert of sandy beach when it's low enough.
The pools figure in the longbeaks (real names by request) quests.
Their hopping and running,
every now and then taking off with an excoriation of the interloper- the pools rhythmically certain in halting my westward advance.
No brother,
this is the edge of the world.
I like to try and elude alarm- herons ain't having it
fish aren't as dumb as one would wish, and who really wants to eat anything that requires a toothpick in any fashion?
So it goes,
the fog has lifted,
well really if you ever watch fog it doesn't so much lift,
um but it does spill.
The beasties are again out and raring to pose, and they have no chance against me on sasha's bike-don't see me as human but still
make me work for the chance,
sometimes prideful dances ensue as mergansers and others are persnickety about the company they'll keep
POISON OAK is a beautiful plant
and the snakes in my yard hiss to sound like rattlers but are common gopher snakes around 3 feet long

Heysoos! You have just undone all of the good work that the Tourist Board has spent millions trying to do! Florida did that for me too, years ago, with those warning signs to avoid piles of garden cuttings, clumps of grass and piles of bricks etc. I voted to avoid Florida in the future, just to be sure.

To me, all snakes are king cobras, black mambas and pythons all at the same time. The deadliest scorpìon is still but a crab, but any spider more bodied than a daddy-long-legs has designs on my life.
