More than one LCC at a time?
« on: April 09, 2013, 09:34:14 pm »

Is it possible to assign multiple LCCs? I'm trying to utilize the HDR trick I've read about while also using a technical camera, which requires lens cast correction. I'm guessing no.. but it would be nice so I thought I would post it here? If anyone has any tricks or work arounds please let me know! :)

Dave: Just is referring to the HDR via LCC method. He wants to use both an LCC for correction of lens cast, and an LCC as a pseudo HDR technique.

Justin: no, it's not possible to apply more than one LCC to a single file.

My mistake - reading too fast.

Justin - The HDR tool is much improved in V7 so try that.

What is "LCC"?

LCC = Lens Cast Calibration

It's used to remove a gradual shift in color towards the edges of the frame, and remove vignetting, and/or remove sensor dust spot shadows.

I'm wondering about the case with Leaf backs where a LCC file can be applied in camera to the .MOS file.  Could it then be worked in C1 as the OP wishes using the LCC option in C1 for sudo HDR?

Hi Eric,

I think the improved High Dynamic Range (highlight and shadow) controls make that exercise unnecessary.

Bart,
That's what I do, but mainly I was trying to think of ways the OP can achieve that he wants to do. Do you use C1 now for your work or just visiting this thread?

Hi Eric,

I use C1 mostly (I really like the V7 quality improvements), and RawTherapee to see if there is something that can be improved by approaching the file from a different angle.

Some things, e.g. darkframe subtraction, can only be done with RawTherapee, which also gives a lot of control over the Raw conversion process, i.e. pre-processing including the possibility to adjust the black and white points per channel (can e.g. help with clipped channel correction).

Cheers,
Bart
