Is there a difference between these two types of shutters for tech camera lenses?  I have used both on 4x5 cameras and found them pretty equal in quality, but I have no experience with them on digital?  Does one brand work better than the other?  Is copal the better way to go here?

Did Nikon actually make their own shutters?  I would have thought they just used Copals like Rodie and SK???

Nikon used Copal shutters. So did Fuji and everyone else.
